One of the main tenets of my campaign is not only affordable, but accessible, housing. This means that housing not only must meet the affordable ratio that is supported by someone’s income. but must also be accessible to public transit and resources. This will require the education of neighborhoods regarding the types of housing that will best create solutions.

We have a massive gap in the availability of one-bedroom units in the city. These units are often built as multi-unit buildings. And while many neighborhoods would like R1 zoned housing to be the only type approved for their spaces, we will need to help them understand the need for alternative builds and why the are a primary solution for the affordable housing crisis. This kind of public conversation will not only educate the constituents of District 8, but also create a sense of pride and ownership around their involvement in helping to alleviate a significant issue in their community.
